The way of the Mediterranean: The Heracles’ route: Civiliter start a new project for the UE Culture Programme
Heracles was the greatest of the Greek heroes (for the later mythologic, he´s known as Hercules). The legend says that Heracles had to make twelve Labours, that forced him to cross different villages in the northern and south of the Mediterranean sea in the Antiquity. From Greece, through the to the most occidental civilization, Tartessos, The travel of Heracles is a path through the territories of Mediterranean area (european countries and Mediterranean south bank), the center of the ancient world.
This project aims to build a tour of this route of Heracles, identifying areas that want to join and offer a perspective of its evolution from antiquity to the present.
We intend to value the resources and territories, establish a relationship between them and, ultimately, make a map of the European peoples of the Mediterranean area.
From today’s perspective, let go of the hand of Heracles / Hercules highlighting the cultural signs that unite these villages for centuries, putting them together and creating stable points of contact for the future.
So, we are looking for partners principally in Spain, Italy, France and Greece…
